Florence has become one of my favourite cities. It is a city rich in the finest sculptures, art, architecture, engineering, history, culture, amazing food, – you name it, it has it all.
One must make a trip to this magnificent city at least once in their lifetime in order to experience the origin of the Renaissance and where all the prodigies have once came across (from Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo, Brunelleschi, Botocelli, just to name a few).
And of course, towering over the city is the most beautiful building I’ve ever seen, the Santa Maria del Fiore as well as the Duomo, the largest brick (double) dome in the world. You cannot complete your journey here without visiting the Piazza Michelangelo, overlooking the rolling fogs that unveils the city at dawn; the famous David by Michelangelo at the Galleria dell’Academia; climbing the space in between the double dome of the Duomo; and of course seeing Botocelli’s The Creation of Venus at the Uffizi Gallery.
