09 SUZHOU – Venice of the East

Suzhou is most famous for its Silk. Once known as the “Venice of the East”, it became an important anchor point of the Silk Road during the Song and Tang Dynasty.

As a result of the exchange of foreign trades and economic prosperity, art and literature greatly flourished in this region of China.
