03 XI’AN – Unearthing China’s History

Having served as the capital of Dynastic China for several important dynasties, Xi’An was both the eastern most point of the Silk Road and the seat of the emperors of China.

One of the most prolific emperors was that of Qin Qi Huang, China’s first emperor. Responsible for the construction of a unified nation and the Great Walls to defend against the Mongols, the emperor also had an entire Terracotta army (think XXL) built next to his mausoleum to protect him even in the afterlife.
